Natasha is a trade mark attorney and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA).
Natasha gained her LLB (Hons) Law Degree from Nottingham Trent University in 2012 and went on to gain valuable experience working as an intellectual property paralegal for three years at an East Midlands firm before training to become a trade mark attorney.
Natasha qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in 2017 after obtaining the relevant qualifications from both Queen Mary University, London, and Nottingham Law School.
Natasha was actively involved in the start-up of the Derby Junior Lawyers Division of the Derby & District Law Society in 2017 and went on to become the president in 2018 a position she held until December 2021.
How do you help clients?
I help my clients protect, manage, and enforce its trade mark rights worldwide. I have experience of working with SME’s up to multi-national companies and have a particular focus of brands in the retail sector.
I concentrate my practice in trade mark law and handle all aspects of practice such as UK and foreign trade mark portfolio management, filing of oppositions, revocation, invalidity and passing off actions. I handle all aspects of settlement negotiations including the drafting of settlement agreements. I also advise in relation to brand clearance, advising on brand strategy, trade mark registrability, handling large multi territory filing programmes and have been involved in a number of multi-jurisdictional assignment projects.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in actioning social media infringement actions including handling social media takedowns and brand enforcement across third party selling websites such as Amazon, eBay & Etsy. Since I have a focus on the retail sector. I have significant experience in assisting enrolment into the Amazon Brand Registry programme and have further helped with enforcement of brand owners’ rights via Amazon Brand Registry.
Experience
- Advising and successfully executing an invalidity action based upon bad faith at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a well-known middle eastern taxi company.
- Advising and successfully defending numerous trade mark applications facing third party oppositions including preparation of settlement and co-existence agreements.
- Reviewing extensive trade mark portfolios and advising on brand strategy, international clearance and filing strategies.
- Advising and preparing strategies for obtaining registered protection (trade marks or designs) for the purpose of Amazon Brand Registry Enrolment for brands within the retail sector.
