Marcus is a real estate partner specialising in all aspects of commercial property. He has considerable experience advising investors, developers, landlords and tenants on real estate investment acquisitions and disposals, development projects, forward fundings, pre-lettings and lettings.

Prior to joining Gateley, Marcus spent 25 years in the transactional real estate group of a leading global international law firm, which included client secondments to Legal & General Property, Amazon Group Real Estate & Facilities and Legal & General Capital.

Experience

  1. Acting on the acquisition of Walbrook Square / Bloomberg Place, the largest development project in the City of London for 30 years, the termination of the conditional sale agreement and on the subsequent disposals of the long leasehold and freehold interests.
  2. Acting on the acquisition of 8 Canada Square, the global headquarters of HSBC Bank in Canary Wharf and the largest single property acquisition in the UK at that time and on its subsequent disposal and financing.
  3. Acting on the forward funding and development of Transport for London’s headquarters in the International Quarter, Stratford and on the subsequent retail lettings.
  4. Acting on the development, pre-letting and subsequent retail and restaurant lettings of 10 Fenchurch Avenue, London.
  5. Acting on the acquisition of 5 Broadgate, the UK headquarters of UBS and subsequent asset management.
