Brendan is an experienced Senior Building Surveyor with over 20 years of surveying and project management. His career started at Crawford & Co Loss Adjusters managing domestic perils and has progressed through other major companies including Sedgwick before joining Gateley Smithers Purslow from Streams surveying division. Brendan has extensive experience in both water and fire remediation works with large loss domestic and commercial claims. Brendan joined Gateley Smithers Purslow in December 2021 providing traditional building surveying and project management duties for a range of commercial and domestic clients.

Experience
- Design and contract administration for the demolition and rebuilding of a semi-detached property destroyed in the Wennington wild fires. This was a high-profile case with significant media attention, our clients property was the first in the village to be completed to the delight of our client and their insurer. Contract value £524,000.00 + vat.
- Design and contract administration for a fire reinstatement to a large, detached property in Purley partially destroyed by fire. Working with our architectural and engineering teams, the client and their broker we undertook a full design and contract administration project with the client moving home almost 12months to the day from the fire. Contract value £724,000.00 + vat.
- Reinstatement of a flood damaged rural property in Hampshire, the client had 24 rescue dogs, 5 horses and numerous chickens on the grounds and needed to remain in residence. Working with insurers we carefully phased the works segregating areas of the property sequentially to enable the client to remain in their home during the repair works.
- Design and contract administration for the demolition and rebuilding of a fire damaged sports pavilion for a community junior football club. Contract Value £224,000.00 + vat.
- Providing professional consultancy advise to loss adjusters dealing with a loss assessor and high net worth individual in relation to a £750,000.00 fire claim to a Grade II listed building in the City of London EC1.
