We are pleased to announce that our £1.3m rebuild project for the Tap and Run pub and restaurant has been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Small Non-Residential Scheme of the Year Award’ at the ProCon Leicestershire Awards 2024.

Owned by former England cricketers, Harry Gurney and Stuart Broad, the scheme saw our team deliver full project-managed services throughout the year-long rebuild for the Tap and Run pub and restaurant in Upper Broughton, near Melton Mowbray, following a devastating fire in June 2022.

Tremendously popular each year, the ProCon Leicestershire Awards ceremony is the county’s largest celebration of the built environment, showcasing the best projects, developments and rising stars in construction and property across Leicestershire and Rutland.

Judged by a panel of experts and ProCon members, the Small Non-Residential Scheme of the Year Award assesses a range of commercial developments with a contract value of £3m or less for their approach to several key areas including overcoming issues and challenges, design excellence, sympathetic environmental impact and sustainable aspects.

Project lead and commercial director at Gateley Smithers Purslow, Mike Boast, said: “We are delighted to see our Tap and Run project shortlisted as a finalist. This was a challenging buildings insurance reinstatement project due to strict timescales around the business interruption period, the location being a conservation area and the high-profile owners attracting a lot of media attention around the progress and much anticipated reopening. We are extremely pleased with the finished result, and it’s been great to see the business go from strength to strength since it reopened in June 2023.

“This recognition feels extra special as the ProCon Awards is the biggest built environment event for the region where our multi-disciplinary consultancy was founded. The category is highly competitive this year, and we look forward to celebrating with the other finalists and winners at what is set to be a great evening.”

Now in its 21st year, the ProCon Leicestershire Awards will announce all the winners at its sell-out black-tie event on 14 November 2024 at The King Power Stadium, Leicester.
